For a ghost investigation tool:
Simply turn the ball on by pressing the button. Set the ball in a secure location where it will not roll. Make sure there is no interference with the ball (for example, if you place it on a chair, make sure no one is leaning on the chair, etc...) After a few seconds, the motionless ball will stop blinking.
Now you can invite spirits present to interact with you by touching or moving the ball. It's a great tool for asking yes or no questions (i.e. light up the ball for "yes".) and for asking questions to confirm the presence of an intelligent spirit. (i.e. "If you were a patient in this hospital, would you light up the ball for us?")
In areas we have investigated with a history of child spirits, we have even used the motion-activated balls to play games such as saying "I'll roll the ball to you, and then you can roll it back" or by lining up the balls and asking the spirits to light up one ball, then two, etc....
